Who We Are

Washington Wrestling Network is run by Sam, Matt, Trevor, and Josh. A team of dedicated wrestling enthusiasts committed to growing the sport in Washington State.

WWN is an independent media organization dedicated to Washington wrestling.

Our Mission

Here at the WWN our mission is to celebrate and elevate the wrestling community in Washington State by providing a platform that showcases local talent, promotes events, and connects fans, athletes, and coaches.

What We Do

Rankings: We provide comprehensive rankings for Washington high school wrestlers across all classifications and weight classes, updated daily as results come in.

Podcasts: We produce podcasts discussing Washington wrestling, featuring conversations with Olympic medalists, officials, coaches, and athletes.

Live Broadcasts: We broadcast live wrestling duals and tournaments, bringing the action directly to fans who can't be there in person.

Social Media Content: We produce content highlighting high school wrestlers and their accomplishments across our social media platforms.

Partnerships: We partner with both the WIAA to promote high school wrestling, as well as Andy with Real Ref Report to promote the officiating side of the sport.

We are working every day on the development of our brand and furthering the reach of Washington wrestling. For the love of the sport of wrestling. We believe in creating a connected community where wrestlers, coaches, and fans can celebrate the sport together and where local talent gets the recognition it deserves.

About Our Rankings

At Washington Wrestling Network, our rankings represent the cumulative judgment of our exclusive team of rankers. Each week, our team meticulously reviews results from sanctioned high school duals and tournaments across Washington, ensuring we accurately rank the state's top wrestlers. Our rankings are designed to be accurate, transparent, and trusted by fans, coaches, and athletes alike.

Our individual rankings focus on the high school folkstyle season. The most important factor is head-to-head matchups in sanctioned events during the season. Secondary factors include results against common opponents and out-of-season competitions such as freestyle, Greco-Roman, and collegiate open tournaments, though in-season folkstyle results carry the most weight.

Wrestlers are typically ranked at the lowest weight class they have competed in during the season unless there is reliable information indicating a different weight class is more appropriate. If you have verified information about a wrestler's intended weight class, we encourage you to reach out.

Rankings are separated by classification and gender. Boys compete in five divisions: 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A, and 1B/2B; girls compete in four divisions: 4A, 3A, 2A, and 1A/2A/2B. We also publish "All State" rankings for the top eight wrestlers in each weight class and "Pound for Pound" rankings for the top 10 wrestlers statewide regardless of weight class or classification.

Rankings are updated daily as results come in, with the biggest updates typically on Sundays and Mondays. Our team applies consistent standards, considering close matches, injuries, and competition level. Rankings are entirely hand-calculated—no computer algorithms are used.

Team rankings are derived from individual rankings using a consistent algorithm to approximate tournament scoring. They are not intended to reflect dual team results, only tournament performance. Each individual ranking contributes points toward the team's total, providing a snapshot of expected tournament performance.
